Delta Controls Collaborates with McAfee to Fortify enteliBUS Manager
SURREY, CANADA, August 23, 2019 – Delta Controls, Inc., a leader in building automation technology, announced that it has enhanced the security of its enteliBUS Products as part of a collaboration with McAfee’s Advanced Threat Research team, one of the global leaders in cybersecurity threat research and intelligence. In working with McAfee, Delta Controls has enhanced the security of its industrial control system and eliminated vulnerabilities that could impact end-users. Delta Controls has also initiated several new testing and certification protocols to prevent future cybersecurity threats.
“Staying ahead of cybersecurity risks is absolutely critical in today’s environment,” said Chris Kwong, Chief Technology Officer for Delta Controls. “We proactively work with research groups to identify potential security improvements and pride ourselves on developing products using industry best practices. Delta Controls is committed to communicating security information to customers and the industry at large.”
McAfee praised Delta Controls for its “outstanding efforts” in addressing the issue. “We are thrilled to be collaborating with Delta, who have embraced the power of security research and public disclosure for both their products as well as the common good of the industry,” said Douglas McKee, senior security researcher with McAfee.
Delta Controls has established a robust Cybersecurity Program that includes a security center as well as gap and hardening analysis for its products. New cybersecurity protocols have been implemented to further strengthen threat monitoring and remediation capabilities. These new tools and techniques are designed to facilitate knowledge-sharing and best practices for securing building automation system (BAS) sites. Teams from Delta Controls work around the clock to ensure our products keep pace with the evolving security needs of IoT-capable devices. To ensure products are not unduly exposed on the internet, Delta Controls performs periodic scanning for sites around the world and provides an awareness service to their global partnership.
All enteliBUS Product users that do not have the product protected behind VPNs or Firewalls should make it a priority to apply the patched firmware version 3.40.612850, to resolve this issue, and reduce public accessibility by adjusting default username and password as per KBA2252.
