Learn How UBC Uses the O3 Sensor Hub
We are excited to share how a Computer Engineering capstone team from The University of British Columbia used the integrated sensor set and feature-rich technologies built into the Delta Controls O3 Sensor Hub.
As UBC expands its student population, fewer work areas are available for the students and everyone who teaches and works there. UBC created a solution for this issue by creating an Android App that integrates the O3 Sensor Hub with Google Maps to create an indoor position tracking app allowing students to locate each other and identify their preferred workspace.
The Sensor Hubs Bluetooth beacon allows the app to track the user’s physical location relative to a Google Indoor Maps floor plan. Using the sensor-rich O3 Sensor Hub, details of the instrumented spaces are superimposed on the floor plan, including room occupancy, ambient noise, light level, room temperature and relative humidity.
The new norm adopted by many companies to use ‘Hot Desking’ as well as the desire for less occupied, healthier spaces can be achieved with this technology.
